Is this worth $500?

Hi ;) Trust all is well with you..... I'm THANKFUL!! All is Super with my main company Anna Moda, Inc.. I keep hiring techs to do a job for my Blingqueenfashionz.com site. I spent over 100 K! so far!

This latest tech I hired was through MySpace.. OKAY, OKAY.. Silly of me.. Asked me up front money to take care of MySpace fan site and Facebook fan site.. Nothing was done...

Finally I asked him just do a video and lets call it quits.. Now My question to you is ..

Is this video worth $500.00?

A simple answer to a simple question. I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you,

Anna

Because this is how much I was charged for it. Please note that this gentleman thought my number one fan was my dog.

Here's my first video I made today. Mind you, I am very computer illiterate and this took about five minutes to make.

Anna De Chiricco makes "The List"

I received an email one night, letting me know that I'm on "The List." I was unsure what that meant until she sent me a copy of it. Apparently, "the list" typically includes news makers of the month, influences, and publicists. Grab yourself a copy of Vegas Magazine, March/April issue to see my name alongside Frank Sinatra, Jason Biggs, Justin Long, Anne Hathaway, Taylor Swift, Dolly Parton, Georges St-Pierre, Guy Ritchie, and much more. I'm just so proud of this and I wanted to share this with you guys!

My Amazing Experience Accessorizing The Movie "Casino"

In the midst of my crazy schedule, I had all the trade shows and was flying in all over the country. Those were the times when designing your line meant exactly that. (Later thoughts on that subject)

The designers were so super cool and ahead of the times. My line then, was called Enotria Imports (Yes, it was called that. I was present at trade shows all over the country. Tons of media were scouting new trends new designers; therefore, I was one of the fortunate ones to catch the eye of many magazines such as Accessories, Marie Clair, Accent, etc. One day, I landed in Las Vegas to meet with clients. Late afternoon, I received a call from Rita Ryack and her assistant, Johnn A. Dunn. After a brief introduction, they wanted to meet and scout out the possibilities to accessorize the movie, Casino, that was being shot in Vegas! Okay, somebody pinch my ass. Is this for real?

When I first met Rita, my thoughts were on her. In her extravagant simplicity, a true artist shined through. I remember they were in such a rush. We met at Caesars Palace, then upon opening and handing the sample trays, the look Rita and Johnn exchanged told me it was a go! They quickly pulled samples of interest aside, talking about this outfit, that outfit, this scene, that scene. Then when all was done they asked me to provide doubles of everything. See if something breaks, they need a replacement ASAP! They later invited me to the trailer where the most beautiful dresses from Valentino were hanging there with Sharon Stone's name on it and scene. We went over different ensembles for more needed jewelry. I flew back home to California where I resided, put together the doubles, and had some other original designs made up quickly. It was so super exiting! Even more exiting was the chemistry and passion we all shared. So super cool ;) When Mr. Martin Scorsese and Ms. Fina were filming, I had to fly out from wherever I was to be on the set, as this was what Ms. Stone wanted. Universal Pictures was so generous to grant me screen credits amongst such giants as Bvlgari, Valentino, and Anna Natace (I know Anna personally). She was the real furrier of the character played by Sharon, her name was Ginger. The movie took a month longer to wrap. It was truly an amazing experience to be there on the set and see how much work and time goes in to filming!

AHHH!! Meting Mr. Robert De Niro? Sooo very charismatic and down to earth. Rita was also super cool to ask me if I wanted to be one of the country club wives in the scene where De Niro gives the acceptance speech. HAHA No. I also loved hanging out with the design team.

I was to pick up the stills from MCA, the legal department of Universal signing off a disclosure. I would not use them for publicity or sell to the tabloids. Life is full of surprises and irony. Reminds me of the song, Ironic by Alanis Morissette. "Isn't it ironic?"
"Mr. Play It Safe was afraid to fly
He packed his suitcase and kissed his kids good-bye
He waited his whole damn life to take that flight
And as the plane crashed down he thought
'Well isn't this nice...'
And isn't it ironic ... don't you think"

...and so on with similar parodies. Anyhow, one morning, the end of November 2004, I was struck by a facial paralysis! December 13th, I was operated at St. Vincent hospital in LA for a 7th nerve decompression surgery. Needless to say, I wanted no one to know or see me. I simply vanished for 3 years until I worked on myself to recuperate from my facial paralysis. Even by a luminaries such as Dr. Brackmann, I am considered his miracle. Their diagnosis was not good.

Have faith, be strong, and believe in the power of the mind!

Love& Peace

The Bling Queen

Umm... maybe I will call, soon, Universal and get my stills ;)

Against All Odds: a Story of Survival and Personal Triumph

Back in 1984, I relocated from Italy to the U.S. after divorcing a wealthy man, asking nothing more of him than just my freedom and my young daughter. I had a few challenges, but my wish was eventually granted, though that was just the beginning of long series of challenges in this country.

I started my business, Anna Moda, in spite of not knowing well the English language, the Southern California Freeway system and American culture in general. I started that business in January 1985, a fashion jewelry wholesale business. Truth be told, I had absolutely no clue how to start, what to do; however, one must start somewhere and the need for survival gives you AMAZING inner and physical strengths. I started my biz with very a modest amount of fashion jewelry inventory bought in Italy from a friend of mine, Eduardo Cipullo, a great designer whose brother was the celebrated Aldo Cipullo, designer for Cartier Jewelers. With my sample line wrapped in a plastic grocery bag, I ventured out into the streets and onto the freeways of Southern California, knocking at the door of any boutique I could find. My daughter, Maria, was in school and her lunch was prepared in the car. We lived in a small motel, making sure that every day by 3:00pm I'd go pick her up from school! No room to get lost, no room to make mistakes. Then we would go back to the motel where Maria would do her homework while I'd prepare the Fashion Jewelry line for the next day. Back then, women here in this country were wearing small pearl earrings, dainty pearl necklaces. I brought in big Swarovski jewelry hoops and torchon necklaces with large, bold clasps. Out of curiosity and intrigued by these beautiful new designs, boutiques were buying and selling them just as fast. I was saving every penny I made and went to Italy every 3 months to purchase small quantities of jewelry to re-sell here. Flying in and out sometimes in a 3-day span! My daughter Maria and I would drive down 2nd Street in Long Beach and our "FUN" time was just scouting for boutiques: Maria would write down the names and I would follow up the next day while she was in school.

I then rented a tiny studio apartment in Huntington Beach: no TV, a mattress on the floor at night to sleep on which during the day would be hidden in the closet. To make a long story short, within one year I had upgraded to a one-bedroom apartment, and then three months later a two-bedroom, sparsely furnished with minimal but tasteful furniture. Eventually, I ended up purchasing a condo. That in itself is a chapter in my life I shall never forget.

The dollar was strong back then, therefore profit margins were great. However, I found out about Providence, Rhode Island, and learned that 90% of all fashion jewelry was produced there: I booked my flight to a new world, designing my own collection and selling to major department stores such as Nordstrom, Parisian, Sacks Fifth Avenue, Marshall Fields, Dayton Hudson, etc. I bought my first REAL home, with REAL furniture, TV in every bedroom! I was doing it and I was doing it well. My design caught the attention of Rita Ryack and John Dunn, costume designers for Sharon Stone. That resulted in my being hired to accessorize the movie "CASINO".

In conclusion, I have been in the biz of fashion jewelry wholesale for 26 years now, most recently even venturing into e-commerce with my new baby venture www.BlingQueenFashionz.com. My daughter is now married and has a 2 year old baby boy. Moral of the story is that if I did it, then ANYONE can! I have no fancy degrees, but I do have an M.S. (Masters of Survival) and you know what? I survived in style!

"Anna you are an inspiration to women entrepreneurs as soon as I have enough women in this group I would love for you to come on a call and share your story with them. You have inspired me to take WSW really big and help you build Bling Queen Fashions big and really make a difference in the world. I was going to go big but now the sky is the limit, someone like you speaking to these women can make all the difference. You are amazing, I love reading your story, it really touches my heart as it will women everywhere. You are right, if you did it, they can do it!"

“It’s a go, with thumbs up!” Says Anna De Chiricco, founder of Bling Queen Fashionz, making the announcement from her Las Vegas World Wide Headquarters. This is significant accomplishment by forgeing a deal between incredibly talented major recording artists “Silk” and Continental Airlines’ exclusive event February 15, 2009 to celebrate Black History Month.

”It was the determination and acute savvy of a unique business woman, Anna De Chiricco that impressed Silk’s management to allow Anna to experiment in the entertainment industry for the first time. This move inspired Continental Airlines to an exclusive sponsorship at the corporation's most prestigious annual event to be held at Newark Liberty International Airport. Where to the excitement of all Silk will perform their new album and hit single "50/50".

So, when Anna De Chiricco was asked what would motivate a Caucasian business woman to become involved in such a project? She answered, “Simple, I have always enjoyed listening to Silk’s music and have always been intrigued by the entertainment industry. I saw an opportunity to seize the moment for the benefit for all.”

“I like to get involved in special and charity events. I was one of the sponsors of the Miss Africa USA 2007 Beauty Scholarship Pageant, the Goody Two Shoes Foundation, the Young Musicians Awards, the Make-A-Wish Foundation and so on.” Ms. De Chiricco continues.

”This is an opportunity to bring some real HOT entertainment to Black History Month. It truly gives me pleasure to give back to the community.” Ms Chiricco says. In addition to Silk’s performance of their new album 50/50, Blingqueenfashionz.com has made a generous gift of two giveaway baskets valued at over $2000 of their unique fashion jewelry. All to benefit the children and families of Continental Airlines' scholarship award.

Anna De Chiricco of BlingQueenFashionz.com is pleased that everyone, along with Continental Airlines and major recording artist Silk, could come together as a team to further promote the awareness of Black History Month.

Anna De ChiriccoAs Ms. De Chiricco says, “You don’t have to be African American to celebrate the soul our brothers and sisters possess. If you are universal, loving, passionate, kind, and driven to make a change, the universe will give back to you what you put out.”
